OUR HISTORY
Our story began in 2003 from a dream, the dream of a 15-year-old boy with a passion for his land and a small plot of land passed down through generations. Being still very young I could not have big plans for it, but everything changed with a dream…. I dreamed of my grandfather, who poured into me his grand design for a prosperous wine-growing future, as if to redeem the history and tradition of that place and his family.
In 2013 now no longer a teenager after expanding the inherited land, I embarked on a new adventure. Sustained only by that old dream, I decide with firm determination to cultivate a 100% Carricante vineyard.
Thanks to the help, support and especially the valuable advice of many people who believed in me, today I can say that I succeeded!
We work the soil very carefully and always put great care into treating the leaf system so as to minimize treatments. Our vineyard was started in the traditional way, planting wild, and the second year it was grafted in place to have a thriving vine the following year.
I do not deny that it has been years of hard work, difficulties, but filled with as much satisfaction and especially learning. After starting the vineyard and thoroughly discovering its potential I decide to go further, and in 2021 I start winemaking part of the harvest.
The excitement generated by this now tangible dream becomes almost a pleasant obsession. After almost two years of work in the winery, in 2023 the first label “RACHELE” finally arrived.
We choose only top-quality grapes for its vinification and let it age in stainless steel containers so that its natural characteristics remain intact. After the period of aging in steel, we bottle it and allow it to refine in the bottle before it can be tasted.
Our Etna Bianco Superiore “RACHELE” has achieved quite an achievement, receiving the Prosit guide certificate and entering the perennial ONAV guide.
In addition, in 2024 we obtained the prestigious label of Eccellenze Italiane, another source of pride for our company!
